1) ff. 2a-100b The beginning is missing and there is nothing to indicate the title of the whole work. The beginning of f. 2a must belong to the sixth chapter. The first two folios deal with the holy Noah. On f. 3a the beginning of the seventh chapter is to be found dealing with Shadad ibn 'Ad (the name of an impious king, founder of the gardens of Iran). On f. 5b begins the ninth chapter, the eight being omitted, followed on f. 17 of the tenth chapter dealing with the prophet Ibrahim; on f. 21a the beginning of the fifteenth chapter, all the others omitted, dealing with the prophet Yaqub. On f. 25b the beginning of the sixteenth chapter dealing with Yusuf and Zelikha, which is the main theme of the rest of the book. For Yusuf and Zelikha, cf. Prov. 12, 364
2) ff. 101a-166b The title of the book is ... , to be found on f. 101a

Origin

Place of origin: Eastern Turkistan
Date of origin: 19th century, late (?)
No date indicated, probably late 19th century.

Provenance: Once belonged to Rev. Sigfrid Moen who acquired it in Kashghar, Yarkand or Yangi Hissar in the 1930's. At his death in 1989 it was presented by his heirs to Gunnar Jarring.

Acquisition: The ms. was part of the Jarring collection of Eastern Turkistan manuscripts donated to the Lund University Library in 1989.
